Dr. Daniel Halayko

Dr. Halayko obtained his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York, NY. He successfully completed a 3-year residency in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and diabetic limb salvage at Medstar Washington Hospital and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. Following residency, Dr. Halayko entered private practice outside Baltimore, MD where he was on staff at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center. He is Board Qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Dr. Halayko treats all areas of foot/ankle health including common foot and sports injuries, dermatological conditions, and complications from diabetes. Dr. Halayko was among the first surgeons in the US to perform minimally invasive (MIS or MICA) bunion correction and has since completed over a hundred of these procedures. He additionally performs Lapidus (sometimes called Lapiplasty) bunionectomy, along with other common foot surgeries including joint fusions, hammertoe correction, neuroma resection/release and plantar fascia surgery using minimally invasive techniques.

New to Vancouver, Dr. Halayko is eager to embrace the active lifestyle of the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Halayko was a Division I collegiate athlete competing in men’s lacrosse at the University of Maryland. He maintains a huge interest in sports including basketball, American football, soccer and golf. His wife and three children can attest he is an aspiring home chef and a coffee snob.
